Recognizing The Benefits of Dental Implants

A few years ago, I realized that the teeth that I was missing were really holding me back. It seemed like no matter how many times I applied for jobs, I was constantly turned away. I knew that I had to do something to improve my look, so I started talking with my dentist. He explained how dental implants could restore my smile and improve my oral health, and I knew that he was right. After I had the surgery, I was able to enjoy a new sense of self confidence that propelled me into a better career. Check out this blog for more information.

Snap-On Smiles: The Newest Form Of Dental Implants

There's a new technology that is gaining track in the dental implant market. It's called the 'Snap-on Smile'. This product works as teeth implants for both a permanent and non-permanent solution to missing and mis-aligned tooth problems.

The 'Snap-on Smile' is a tray that fits onto your teeth in order to fill in a missing tooth or even out a smile that is a little more toothy than someone would like. The procedure for getting one is incredibly simple. First find a dentist who is willing to perform this. It doesn't require a specialist, as the procedure is very simple.

First the mold:

Once you have your dentist filled in on what you want, and they have consulted with you to make sure that the procedure is right for you, they will make a mold of your teeth. The molding procedure is also simple. A compound called alginate is mixed up and set on your teeth to harden. The alginate has been tested in many different ways and is completely safe, so don't worry. The alginate will be liquid when applied to your teeth, and after it is allowed to set it will become a rubbery mold that holds the shape of your teeth. This will be the mold that your final snap on piece will be created from.

Next the smile:

Now comes the fun part: picking your ideal smile. The dentist will obviously have some ideas on exactly how to even out your smile, or what features to accentuate vs. tone down. Listen to what they have to say; they are the professionals after all.

Of course, if you have a little quirk that you want to keep, that can always be added in. You will also be asked about the color that you want your smile. Here you can basically have a professional whitening done on your new tray to improve the coloration, or you can choose to have a more natural look.

Finally, the snap:

After a few weeks, you will get a call from your dentist saying that your 'Snap-on Smile' is ready. Go to your dentist and pick it up! Putting on your new smile is very simple. If you have worn a retainer, the process for putting it in and taking it out is the same. For those of you who haven't had the pleasure,  it is as simple as just pushing the tray up onto your teeth until you hear a click or 'snap'. This means the tray is set and snug on your teeth. From there, just smile and enjoy!

So if you are considering evening out your smile, or wanting to fill in a gap, consider the 'Snap-on Smile'! Simple, easy, efficient, and will have you smiling just so you can show it off!
